Press Release: Sinai Foundation for Human Rights Issues Apology and Withdraws Statement Titled: “An Air Bridge Through Sinai to Israel Before the Resumption of War on Gaza: Egypt Justifies Weapons Transfer by Sea—How Will It Justify It by Air?”

As part of its commitment to accuracy and credibility, the Sinai Foundation for Human Rights has today withdrawn a press statement published last night under the title: “An Air Bridge Through Sinai to Israel Before the Resumption of War on Gaza: Egypt Justifies Weapons Transfer by Sea—How Will It Justify It by Air?” The Foundation apologizes to its audience for the release of that statement, as it contained conclusions that had not undergone full review and verification processes prior to publication.

The statement had referenced video footage showing military cargo planes flying at low altitudes over central Sinai, purportedly heading toward Egypt’s eastern border with Israel. While the authenticity of the videos cited in the statement has been verified, the Foundation nonetheless apologizes for publishing the statement, as it lacked conclusive evidence regarding whether those aircraft landed on Israeli territory, as well as the nature of their cargo.
